Township of Muskoka Lakes will once again use Vote By Mail* in the upcoming municipal election.  This system replaces the traditional polling place method and eliminates the need for advance polls and voting proxies.  It also improves voter access and increases voter participation.

The Township of Muskoka Lakes has two (2) schools within it's boundary.  Watt Public School in Ullswater (off of 141) in Ward B, and Glen Orchard Public School in Glen Orchard, Ward C.

Ward B has the largest area of the 3 Wards, the largest resident (year round) population and the second largest on-resident (seasonal) population in the Township.

The Lake Rosseau North Association did a dock drop to the Township of Muskoka Lakes side of the North end of Lake Rosseau on the weekend of September 4th and 5th.  Please follow this link for details on what was distributed by dock drop.  We thank Anita & Don Wood, and their grandchildren for distributing the dock drop packages.

Each Mayor Candidate & candidate running for Ward B were asked to submit a 300 word submission to the LRNA.   Follow the links below to read their submissions:

There will be a Candidates Town Hall Meeting at Watt Public School, Ullswater on Monday, October 11th, 2010 from 9:30am to 11:30am.

The Purpose is to give resident and non-resident voters the opportunity to hear from and talk to the candidates running for office in Ward B, and for Mayor.  The candidates for Ward A and C are also invited as observers and are encouraged to mingle with the residents to become more familiar with the north end of the Township.

The mayoralty and Ward B candidates will be given 3 minutes each to introduce themselves.  They will then be asked to join the audience in discussion groups.  The discussion groups will be arranged according to the size of the audience to provide as much interface as possible between the candidates and the voters.
