Ward “B” Candidate for District Councillor

Allen and Linda Edwards live in Windermere. They have two sons, two daughters in-law and two grandsons. Linda is a fourth generation Muskoka resident.
For twenty-two years, Allen owned and successfully operated his own plumbing and heating business. More recently he spent twenty-three months as project manager of the new North Bay and Regional Hospital and Mental facility. The budget for the project was nearly one billion dollars of which ninety million was allocated for the mechanical services. His duties included meeting with architects, engineers and construction managers to solve problems, meet deadlines and bring the project to completion.
Experienced in municipal politics, Allen served on the Region of Peel’s Severance Committee and The Town of Caledon Committee of Adjustment until both departments were merged. He then continued to serve, as Vice-Chair, on the Committee of Adjustment for the Town of Caledon for a total of 15 years.
Allen has served for four years as a public representative and Vice-Chair of the Muskoka Lakes Committee of Adjustment.
Allen has been a member of OACA (Ontario Association of Committees of Adjustment) for a total of nineteen years and has attended their annual training conference each year.
Allen was the President of the Mono Mills Ratepayers Association for four years during which time he made many presentations to the Town Council, the Regional Council and the Niagara Escarpment Commission.
Allen’s activities in Muskoka include being a member of the South Muskoka Probus Group, the Port Carling Curling Club and the Gravenhurst Curling Club. Linda is a member of the Windermere Women’s Institute.
Allen and Linda, for several years, have been part of the organizing team for the Windermere Terry Fox run and Silent Auction.
Allen has put forth his name for District Councillor for Ward B in the upcoming municipal election. He would like to devote his time and energy to keeping Muskoka a great place to live. Your vote on Monday, October 25th is important. Allen would appreciate your support on the mail in ballot and looks forward to working with you.
