2010 Township of Seguin Municipal
The Lake Rosseau North Association was formed in 1982 to represent residents and cottagers that are in the North Lake Rosseau area consisting of the southern section of Seguin Township, the Village of Rosseau, and the northeastern section of the Township of Muskoka Lakes.
On October 25th municipal elections will be held across Ontario to elect Mayors and Councillors for the next 4 year term. Eligible Seguin Township residents can vote for the Mayor of Seguin Township, as well as their Ward 6 Councillor.
As in prior years, Seguin Township votes by mail with no advance voting and no proxy voting. All property owners and their spouses are entitled to vote. Children of property owners, if 18 years of age or older, and residing on a full-time basis in Seguin, are also entitled to vote. Voter kits will be mailed in late September. Please carefully complete your voter package and return it promptly. We recommend that you confirm if you are on the voters list by contacting the Seguin Municipal office at 705 732 4300 or Toll free at 877 473 4846 or by email at email@example.com
After careful consideration, based on our review of the Seguin candidates’ presentations at our Annual General Meeting, their record in office (if applicable), their campaign and web site literature, the LRNA’s Board of Directors is pleased to endorse:
For Mayor of Seguin Township: David Conn
LRNA respectfully recommends voters support these recommendations.
It is a trite but true statement that every vote counts. This is especially so in municipalities like ours which have relatively small populations – your vote can and will make a difference! There are approximately 1000 voters in Seguin Township’s Ward 6 (Rosseau).
The LRNA is an active participant in the political life of Seguin Township. The LRNA Board of Directors and our membership strongly endorse the importance of participating in the political decisions made by our municipal government and in working to elect representatives who the Board believes will be best for the Township as a whole. In the 2003 and 2006 municipal elections the LRNA Board endorsed candidates and worked to get those candidates elected. We will do the same again in 2010.
Every election is important. Your vote is important and can make a difference.
This is especially true in the mayoral race. At present there are two declared candidates for mayor. Their platforms offer a clear choice to voters and the Board of the LRNA believes that the current mayor David Conn has made significant progress in both financial and environmental issues that are strategic to our membership and the Township.
