Municipal Election Information

A new candidate has declared for Mayor since the LRNA’s reception for the Township of Muskoka Lakes candidates prior to the Annual General Meeting, and three additional candidates for District and Township Councillors have come forward as of September 3rd, 2010. As nominations close on September 10th, 2010 at 2pm, it is possible but unlikely that there will be other candidates declaring.

The LRNA invites you to attend the ALL CANDIDATES MEETING on September 25, 2010 at 10 am at Glen Orchard School in Port Carling and to listen carefully to each presentation.

The Lake Rosseau North Association was formed in 1982 to represent residents and cottagers that are in the North Lake Rosseau area consisting of the southern section of Seguin Township, the Village of Rosseau, and the north eastern section of the Township of Muskoka Lakes

On October 25th, 2010 municipal elections will be held across Ontario to elect Mayors and Councillors for the next 4 year term.  The Township of Muskoka Lakes eligible voters vote by mail with no advance voting and no proxy voting.  All property owners and their spouses are entitled to vote.  Children of property owners, if 18 years of age or older, and residing on a full-time basis in the Township of Muskoka Lakes, are entitled to vote.  Voter kits will be mailed in late September.  Please carefully complete your voter package and return it promptly (by October 15th, 2010).

We recommend that you confirm if you are on the voters list by contacting the Township of Muskoka Lakes office at 705 765 3156.

The LRNA is an active participant in the political life of the area.  The LRNA Board of Directors and our membership strongly endorse the importance of participating in the political decisions made by our municipal governments and in working to elect representatives whom the Board believes will be best for the Townships as a whole.  We urge you to attend the All Candidates Meeting for the Township of Muskoka Lakes on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at 10 am at Glen Orchard School in Port Carling.   Your vote is important and can make a difference.
