What's Happening in Rosseau

This summer we are indeed fortunate to have special complimentary activities to offer LRNA members and the Rosseau Community.

   

Bridge is being offered Tuesday evenings (July 12th to August 30th) from 7pm to 10pm upstairs in the Rosseau Memorial Hall.  Rosseau resident and LRNA member, Fred Neal has volunteered to teach beginners bridge to anyone who is interested.  Please call Jean MacArthur-Stagg at 705 732 4034 to register or to book a lesson.  Please bring a non alcoholic beverage if desired.
    
 

A Complimentary Tennis clinic is being offered on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at 7pm @ Muskoka Woods.  The clinic is for all ages and skill levels.  Patti Henderson who teaches at the Windemere Tennis Club has agreed to do a second clinic.  Participants at the first clinic really enjoyed it and learned a lot.  Now you have the opportunity for more fun and learning.  Space is limited.  To register please call Don Wood at 70 5732 2272 or email him at dawmadd@aol.com.


Movie Night in Rosseau continues this summer on Mondays @ 7pm at the Rosseau Memorial Hall.  Please visit the Movie Night in Rosseau website at this link for details of what is being shown.  This Monday, August 8th's movie is "Rio"  And Monday, Ausgust 15th is "Hoodwinked Too : Hood vs Evil."

Saturday, August 6th, 2011 is LRNA's AGM at 9:30am at the Rosseau Memorial Hall with a social hour before starting at 8:30am.

   

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011 at 7pm at the Rosseau Memorial Hall (upstairs) - come to a workshop/presentation hosted by the Friends of the Library - Rosseau Branch to learn how you can make your cottage (and home) greener.  Learn how you can replace the products you are using at your cottage that will be better for the environment.  Cheryl Bissonette will show us how with products from OnlyGreen.  The workshop is free and products will be available to order.

  

Community Digitalization Day (CDD) on Saturday, August 13th, 2011 from 11am to 3pm downstairs in the Seguin Libraries - Rosseau Branch.  Do you have any memorable photographs in your cottage photo album you would like to have digitized and share with the Rosseau Historical Society?  Contact Kelly Collard at either 705 732 4223 or 705 732 4231 for more information or to book an 1/2 hour appointment to get started.  This service is free.

 

Monday, August 15th, 2011 at 9:30am at the Council Chambers, Township of Seguin Municipal Office (#5 Humphrey Drive - corner of Humphrey Drive & HWY 141), is a Public meeting for the proposed Official Plan Amendment No. 5 "Rural Severances."  If the following Seguin Township link for more details.


Come turn the pages with Sandy Inkster on Tuesday, August 16th at 10:30am hosted by the Seguin Public Libraries - Rosseau Branch.  If it is not raining we are meeting at the Rosseau Waterfront.  If it is raining meet us at the Rosseau Branch library.  For ages 0 and up, older siblings are welcome.  Great fun for the whole family.

  

The 136th Annual Rosseau Fall Fair is on Saturday, August 27th, 2011 from 10am to 4pm.  Parade starts at 10am at the Ariss Farm at #1111 HWY 141.  Come join in the fun, and start working on your fair exhibit items now.  Visit their new website at www.rosseaufallfair.ca.
